Hit Again: Brawl Breaks Out at 7-Eleven Store in the South Bay

SAN DIEGO - For the second time in recent weeks a 7-Eleven store in a South San Diego community is hit by thieves, but this time things got a bit out of hand.

Last Tuesday, a group of eight people walked into the store on Palm Avenue in Egger Highlands and started vandalizing racks and stealing items. The employees recognized some of the group as those who stole from the store just a couple weeks ago and asked them to leave and that's when a brawl happened, with one of the employees getting punched.

Jason Habib is the owner of the store and gas station and tells NBC 7 he would like San Diego Police to do more patrols in the area but understands that may not be possible.

“They’re understaffed, there’s a lot of pressure on them, they obviously have to take priority calls," said Habib. "So, what can we do as a community to put a stop to this?”

Police were able to locate four members of the group, all of whom were under the age of 18.

The employee who was injured in the brawl is set to return to work.
