OCEANSIDE - A skydiver is recovering after a free-fall onto a home in the North County.
Last Friday evening a man taking part in a skydiving activity with GoJump Oceanside fell straight from the plane, bouncing off a roof and landing in a yard after his parachute failed to open. Neighbors say they could hear the man screaming as he fell, with one neighbor saying it looked like his parachute was just all tangled and torn.
The man apparently got a plane Monday, headed home.
“We’re just grateful that he’s fine, you know, a few broken bones," Amber Sweet-Smith, who found the man in her back yard, told Fox 5. "I mean, looking at him when he moaned, did the first moan and everything, it was like, ‘oh my gosh, this is a miracle."
No word yet on what caused the incident and no comment from GoJump Oceanside.
