VISTA - A Poway doctor accused of assaulting patients while they were under anesthesia is headed to prison.
Leng Ky, 43, an anesthesiologist who operated a pain management clinic in Escondido, was sentenced to 17 years in prison Thursday.
Prosecutors said the incidents happened between 2015 and 2020 with at least four female victims between the ages of 19 and 32. Some of the victims woke up during the assaults and Ky would administer more drugs. Those victims were apparently told their memories of the assaults were drug-induced hallucinations.
Ky had also worked at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, Sharp Community Medical Group and Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs among other medical establishments.
