SAN DIEGO - County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher is checking himself into a treatment center for post-traumatic stress, trauma and alcohol abuse.
According to a press release on Sunday, Fletcher is also dropping out of the race to replace termed-out State Senate President Pro-Tem Toni Atkins, a seat he would have likely won.
On Twitter, Fletcher said he needs to focus on his health and family. He'll be on medical leave from the board of supervisors, but his office staff will continue to work and handle constituents' needs.
