A debate with City Council members over paid parking in Balboa Park is scheduled for Wednesday.
The parking fees have proven to be unpopular with locals and those in the park who own businesses.
Balboa Park museums and other organizations report park visits have dropped from 20-percent, to more than 50-percent since the fees went into effect earlier this month.
The debate will give Council members an opportunity to signal their support for repealing the fees, and any possible ballot measure, reports the San Diego Union Tribune.
Mayor Todd Gloria has repeatedly said he has no plans to repeal or reconsider the fees.
A new poll shows 80-percent of San Diego residents want the fees eliminated.
