A big rig burst into flames this morning on I-805 in Mission Valley following a collision with a vehicle. Reporting partner 10 news reports 1 person has died.
KOGO Traffic reporter Alan Lee first reported on the crash shortly after 6. It happened near the transition to I-8 according to the CHP.
The collision was followed by a fire that fully engulfed the semitruck at the freeway transition. All lanes of the SB 805 were shutdown. As of 6:50, only the carpool lane was open to traffic.
The CHP expects the lanes to be shut down for at least four hours. Stay with San Diego's Morning News for updates on this developing story.
