Freedom Dogs has been pairing service dogs with wounded warriors for 20 years.
The not-for-profit is now facing problems continuing its mission as 42-percent of its budget has been cut.
The funds were from a Department of Defense grant which was not included in the Defense Bill Appropriations for 2025.
The agency says it costs 50-thousand dollars to train a service dog for a veteran, at no cost to military personal. The program runs entirely on donations.
