The Artemis II recovery team and NASA are currently undergoing rigorous recovery practice tests off the coast of San Diego.
The crews will have two hours to locate the spacecraft and recover its four-person crews after splashdown. Helicopters, small boats and a Navy ship's well deck are part of the recovery mission.
Navy divers will stabilize the capsule in the water then use an inflatable raft called a front porch the astronauts will use to exit the craft. According to the Navy, once recovered, the astronauts will be flown to a nearby Navy ship, while divers secure the capsule.
The launch, from Florida, is set for this Wedneday.
