A 12-year-old boy is seriously injured after a crash involving an e-bike in Carmel Valley.
Police say the collision happened around 5:40 Saturday evening on Del Mar Heights Road when the boy attempted a left turn and was hit by a vehicle.
Authorities say the child suffered life-threatening injuries, including head trauma, and required surgery.
A 64-year-old man who was driving a 2023 Tesla Model Y westbound in the number one lane of Del Mar Heights Road was not injured, and alcohol was not a factor in the collision, police said.
