Today will be the public's first opportunity to weigh in on San Diego's new proposed budget.
Mayor Todd Gloria is trying to close a 118-million dollar deficit, which means cuts to the city's arts and culture programs, rec centers and libraries.
The Mayor says there's not a lot of options, with public push backs on new taxes or additional parking fees.
The public is invited to comment on the budget proposal tonight at 6PM at City Hall. A second hearing will be held later this month, and the fiscal year 2027 budget will need to be finalized b y June 15th.
