A tragic car accident in Lemon Grove has taken the lives of three young people and two dogs. The crash happened Wednesday afternoon around 4:00 at the intersection of Massachusetts and Lemon Grove Avenue.
Investigators say an Acura with five people, three of them children, and four dogs inside, turned in front of an SUV, colliding head-on. A 13-year old, an 18-year old and two dogs died at the scene. A 7-year-old died at the hospital.
The driver and a 4-year-old had serious injuries, and were taken to the hospital. The driver of the SUV was treated and released at the hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
