The Message From Poway: The Fight Against Evil

Why do bad things happen to good people? And why do evil people do the evil things they do?And what do have to do to make it end?

Questions many of us have been asking once again since that gunman walked into a synagogue in Poway, killing one person and wounding three others. And since a student with a gun walked into a classroom at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and killed two and wounded four others this week.Just the latest of the kinds of evil acts that happen way too often.

The rabbi at the Chabad of Poway is expecting his synagogue to be filled this weekend and at the White House, he told the nation that people cannot be scared and that they must stand up to evil.

But what do we do to fight evil? And how do we fight the hate that often spawns the evil acts against innocent people?

A unique course at San Diego State University is asking that question of students in a class called “Understanding Evil”.The professor who teachers that course hopes that understanding evil will help us know how to combat evil.

She and others in our community who offer answers to the questions about fighting back against evil will be sharing their views on a KOGO News one hour special report tonight at 6 called:The Message from Poway: The Fight Against Evil.

What they have to say needs to be heard and needs to be heard now.And we all need to be listening.Tonight at 6 here on Newsradio 600 KOGO.
