Driver Charged with Murder in Fatal Crash in Temecula

It was a terrible crash that left one woman dead and a man in jail.

A 25 year old man from Washington State is facing murder charges in connection with Tuesday's fatal crash on the 15 freeway in Temecula that left a woman dead.

It happened about 7:30 a.m. on the southbound 15 near Rancho California road when a speeding driver crashed into the woman's car. The CHP says the driver of a pickup was going more than 100 mph when it slammed into the rear of a Nissan Altima, killing the woman driver in that car.

The CHP says the driver of the pickup, 25 year old Javier Caldera from Auburn Washington, is facing charges of murder, felony DUI involving drugs and felony hit and run.

The name of the woman killed was not immediately released because her family was being still held pending notification of her family.
