People 65 and Over Now Can Get Vaccinations in San Diego County

San Diego County announced on Saturday that those eligible to receive vaccinations against COVOD-19 has expanded to include those age 65 and up.

.In a news release from the county, Public Health Officer, Dr. Wilma Wooten says, “As I indicated a few weeks ago, the County anticipated expanding eligibility to individuals 65 years of age and older the week of January 25 as part of the continued focus on those at the greatest risk. With a number of health care providers now vaccinating in the age group, and the UC San Diego Health Super Station having a surplus of appointments, the decision was made to begin vaccinations of anyone 65 and over. Appointments are still required and vaccinations are available based on supply.”

The news that people 65 and over could now get vaccinations at the County's Super Vaccination Stations outside Petco Park and in Chula Vista came on the day that the county reported 2,980 new cases of the virus and 43 more deaths.
