Drive-by Shooting Leaves One Dead, Two Wounded

One person is dead and two wounded in a drive-by shooting near an Otay Mesa West recreation center.

It happened Friday night. San Diego Police received a call at 7:09 p.m. about shots being fired in the 3000 block of Coronado Avenue.

Based on preliminary information, SDPD says shots were fired from a car and they do not have any suspects in custody.

The victim who died was a man in his 20s. Two other victims who were also shot were transported to hospitals in unknown conditions according to San Diego Police.

The shooting occurred on the southern parking lot off of Coronado Avenue, nearby the Montgomery-Waller Recreation Center but not on the fields or at/inside the recreation center.

At this time, police do not have a description of the suspect and do not know if the shooting is gang-related.
