A new California app is putting wildfire updates directly in your hands, with more than 60 fire agencies signed on.
Millions turned to CAL FIRE's website during the devastating Southern California wildfires last year. Roughly 85 percent were using mobile devices, prompting officials to create Aware CA.
The free app delivers verified wildfire updates directly from emergency agencies, reports the U-T.
The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department has provided feedback on the app and is interested in the project.
The app is available for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
