The city of Oceanside has announced a plan to fix its damaged pier.
They say 11-million-dollars of the 80-millon-dollars needed for repairs has been secured. With additional funding and grants being sought before construction begins.
Currently the city is finalizing the design, environmental report and permits.
Some work is expected to begin in October to stabilize and brace the hammerhead structure at the end of the pier. But the bulk of the work will begin in 2027. The city says scaffolding and netting will begin going up soon on the bridge.
