Random Act Of Kindness For San Diego Shark Attack Victim

Last year Keane Webre-Hayes suffered serious injuries from a shark attack. Keane, who is now 15, was the recipient of an amazing "Random Act of Kindness" this weekend. After his mom had made a Facebook post asking if anyone in the Carlsbad area had weight lifting equipment they didn't need, a group of guys from their neighborhood responded. Not only did the guys raise money for a brand new gym set, they delivered it to Keane and set it up for him. The weight lifting equipment is essential for Keane to maintain muscle mass in his injured arm, otherwise it will become useless.

His mom, Ellie Hayes posted the following on her Facebook page over the weekend.

The most fantastic, loving, selfless thing just happened.♥️♥️💕

I posted on our local sale site that I was in need of a weight bench and weights for Keane due to his injuries after being attacked by a shark. It’s imperative he maintain his muscles in his left arm or it will become useless.

A random group of guys, from our community saw the post and went to work. They raised money to purchase a total gym set (used) and ordered a new set of dumbbells and TRX bands for Keane.

THEY ARE COMPLETE STRANGERS AND WISH TO STAY ANONYMOUS. They ASKED FOR NOTHING IN RETURN.

I am completely humbled as everyone is in need right now. Some of the men that helped us today have lost their jobs, have the stress of providing for their families, and have a bundle of their own worries. Yet in this moment of despair found joy and purpose to give to someone else in need.

There are many take aways from the state our country/world is in right now but this my friends is the golden lining of our life.

Not only did we get the gym equipment Keane needed, my kids were shown a lesson they would gave never learned at school. They received gifts to their soul and they were shown humanity at its finest.

Thank you to anyone that helped out on this project! We will never forget it and I will teach my children to pay it forward and use this event to teach them for years to come. So whoever you are......thank you!!
