“Vines & Vittles”, a Western-themed Family Festival is coming July 14 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm, to Rancho Bernardo’s Webb Park. This fundraising event is a joint effort of the Rancho Bernardo Historical Society and the Rancho Bernardo Rotary Club Foundation. Enjoy live music, 4-H exhibits, old western photos and activities, kids area, and plenty of wine, craft beer and vittles tastings. The kids will also find an old-fashioned ice cream cart, a lemonade stand, and a popcorn cart.

The event will benefit the many programs of both 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer organizations, providing community programs and services enhancing the lives of individuals of all ages. In addition to two headline bands, the Shirthouse Band and Mariachi Victoria de San Diego, there will be a wide variety of family fun. You won’t want to miss Magic Mike, an award-winning magician with decades of experience who will mesmerize you with his tricks. Or check out our own Rotarian, Joe Gandelman an award-winning ventriloquist. Joe & Friends have appeared in front of thousands of fans, including royalty. In February 2019, Joe appeared in the Hollywood Beauty Awards at the historic Avalon Theater in Hollywood. For a unique experience work with the Cowboy Poets at Typewriter Rodeo to create your own custom poem on vintage typewriters.

You won’t want to miss a stop at the Grand Ladies of the Old West for an authentic photo in Western attire. No tenderfoots allowed as you don authentic western wear. The kids are going to love the face-painting corral where all kinds of creative designs are available as well as the Poway 4H Club Petting Zoo…kids talking to kids about the love of animals. We’ll have a real blacksmith to show the kids what a blacksmith does and give them a chance to bang a hammer. And there will be games aplenty with corn-hole beanbag tosses and old-fashioned cornhusking to name a few.

While there will be plenty of wine, craft beer and vittles tastings, the kids will also find an old-fashioned ice cream cart, a lemonade stand, and a popcorn cart that is sure to please the kid in all of us. We will have plenty of entertainment and family activities planned for the day and sincerely hope the whole family will come and have a blast! This event has been designed for all to enjoy.
