Users Getting 'Flooded' with Errors on New Asylum App

SAN DIEGO - The new app for asylum seekers is apparently not working right.

Users of the new CBP One app are getting flooded with error messages. The most common error is when asylum seekers try to upload a photo, due to issues with the app's facial recognition technology. Lack of internet access and language barriers are also a problem for some users.

The app, which launched back on January 12th, is part of an effort to reduce the number of would-be asylum seekers camping out at ports of entry and cut down on illegal entries between the ports.

The app will be used for migrants making asylum appointments at select ports of entry in California, Arizona and Texas.
