No ICE At SD Airport, Just Long Lines

San Diego International Airport says ICE agents are not present at the moment, but long lines at TSA are.

Nicole Hall is spokesperson for the airport. She says the Department of Homeland Security may not inform the airport if or when ICE officers are coming.

The airport says 70-to 80 TSA officers per day are not reporting to work and that 10-percent workforce drop is adding to the long security lines.

Travelers are urged to download the "mytsa" app for wait times and delays.

Meanwhile, ICE officers began handling some security duties at a number of other U.S. airports on Monday amid an ongoing partial government shutdown that has sidelined many Transportation Security Administration officers, with border czar Tom Homan in charge of the effort.
