San Diego is suing over a fire truck manufacturer monopoly.
The lawsuit alleges several companies acquired multiple smaller manufactures of fire trucks, then inflated the prices for the vehicles and parts. The city attorney says this eliminated the competition resulting in overcharging the city by hundreds of thousands of dollars, per unit.
The lawsuit seeks civil penalties, damages and restitution for overcharges.
The defendants include REV Group, Oshkosh Corporation and its subsidiary Pierce Manufacturing, Boise Mobile Equipment and American Industrial Partners.
