San Diego County is looking to sell more water, this time, out of state.
The County Water Authority already has long term sales agreements with the Eastern and Western Municipal Water Districts in Riverside County.
The Wall Street Journal reports both the Southern Nevada Water Authority and the Arizona Department of Water Resources are signing exploratory agreements.
San Diego has built a drought proof supply of water, including desalination over the last three decades, but that has come at a higher cost to local ratepayers. So now, the county is looking to sell some of the excess water in a transfer to try and lower rates.
