A state judge has ordered Rady Children's Hospital and its affiliated hospitals to continue offering gender affirming care.
The order extends treatment until June 24th to give each side more time to see if the federal government moves ahead with its threat to withhold federal funding for the program.
This is a temporary restraining order that permits Rady Children's to continue treating patients under the age of 18 with puberty blockers and hormone treatments. Implants remain permitted, but the hospital cannot perform surgeries.
Both sides will return for a final hearing on June 24 at 9:30 a.m.
