Jury selection begins today in a high-profile San Diego County murder case tied to the disappearance of a Chula Vista mother more than five years ago.
Prosecutors accuse Larry Millete of killing his wife, Maya, who vanished in January 2021 and has never been found.
Investigators say Maya was last seen arriving home the evening she disappeared. Prosecutors are expected to rely heavily on circumstantial evidence, including claims Millete was desperate to prevent a divorce.
Defense attorneys argue investigators overlooked other possible suspects. The trial is expected to last about three months
