The Answer to Scary Times as Holidays Draw Near

Are you feeling it or thinking it? As we get closer to the holidays starting next week, there are a lot of uncertain and even scary things happening, that can make us feel a bit unsettled.

Our friends and family members who live in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest are getting ready or are already getting hit with what’s being called the strongest “atmospheric rivers” those areas have ever seen with 12-16 inches of rain, strong winds and expected flooding and power outages.  The National Weather Service name for it is even scary, a “bomb cyclone.

And this week, talk of nuclear bombs was in the news after the president of Russia had a scary message that followed our President’s okay for Ukraine to use U.S made weapons inside Russia.

And in politics, the divisiveness leading up to the election two weeks ago, has not gone away and maybe has even gotten worse.

Those on the left are fearful of what those on the right may be about to do and those on the right are worried about what those on the left may do.

Then there are the warnings this week about the dramatic rise in cases of walking pneumonia and whooping cough.

And along with the recent cases and recalls of contaminated food from organic carrots to quarter pounders, these health scares also could be making us feel a little uneasy.

So maybe the holidays just ahead when we say thanks and express gratitude and when we celebrate the Christmas birth are coming at just the right time.
